Finding your true north

I have recently fallen in love with Turkish television series’ on Netflix. The music, the dancing, the plot lines, everything about them are really amazing. Though the winding plots captivate, an enduring theme emerges of faith as an anchor in life's storms.

The archetypal journeys unfold, love, loss, heroism, and family bonds. The road is often rocky, with tragedies claiming even beloved characters, much like British mysteries. Yet this resonates with the deepest parts of ourselves. None of us get through life easily and these shows reflect that. The show life's raw realities, unflinchingly depicting hardship and heartbreak. Still, there is hope. Through it all, redemption shines through as characters turn to their faith.

The stories whisper: though the road may be hard; if you believe, you will weather the storms. My spirit finds peace in their connection to their rituals and interactions with the Divine. Entwining with the Divine, leaning into faith, listening to that small voice inside brings them to positive outcomes. It is when we practice this way of life that we are satisfied. For this reminder, I am grateful.

I know in this current time it is hard to look around and say “I am satisfied”. We are fighting to just have the basics. Safety, peace, love, and understanding. I offer you this, dear reader. Lean into your faith. Hold on to the belief that you are taken care of and loved.

And if all of that does not work remember to reach out and ask for help. Allow others who have space in their emotional and physical body to be there for you. That is the true meaning of faith.
